Creative tidal wave
So I did it.
I watched the kpop demon hunters movie on Netflix
say what you will abt the plot or story etc, the animation was freakin insane.
Everyone I watch a film like these, I feel compelled to just drop everything, throw together a portfolio and apply to art jobs.
it’s been months since I’ve created anything
But today I finished 3 art projects.
What🤯
It just flips a switch in me. The colors, the movement, the score meshing perfectly with the emotions
There’s nothing like it.
Some other favorites:
spiderverse (all of em ofc)
Nimona
The wish dragon (I think that’s what it’s called)
Spellbound(stupid ahh plot, but great art)
King fu panda (my love)
Ratatouille
Elemental
Teenage kraken dreamers movie I forgot the name of🥲
Again, some of these plots are kind of eh, but the animation is
**chefs kiss**
And it’s times like these that I wonder if dropping art was a mistake.
If maybe I decided to switch because I knew it would be too hard to make it as an artist?
I tell myself it’s because I don’t want to kill a passion with the need to make money off it, but if you love something so much, is that even a valid reason anymore?
Last year, when I worked at Warner bros, I spoke to a number of art department heads. They encouraged me to give it a shot.
Even my art accounts, I kept active well past starting my cs degree, always scared to let that part of me go.
And I wonder if it’s because I made a mistake, or maybe because we need more creativity in tech.
Maybe it’s not that cyber or startups is wrong for me, maybe it’s because the industry is so starved of creativity that when you’re flooded with it, it’s like a tidal wave.
All these things just make me wonder.
What do you think?
See you tomorrow ✌️
Some art of the day📸
